Joel Armia’s two empty-netters sealed the deal.

A puck eluded Carey Price in the crease and Oliver Bjorkstrad buried it, making it a 2-1 game five minutes into the third.

Tomas Tatar had  made it 2-0 seven minutes into the second period.

It was the Canadiens’ first shot on Joonas Korpisalo in 17 minutes.

In the first period, Michael Chaput did great work in the neutral zone and followed it up, producing a Shea Weber shot and a rebound Tatar rifled past  Korpisalo at 6:44.

Shots were 35-26 for the team that lost.
