After three days of drills, activities and exhibitions, the Flyers’ rookies are finally finished having their fun, and the veterans are back to reassert their primacy. Friday brings the official start of NHL training camp to the Philadelphia area as 56 hockey players will descend upon Voorhees, N.J., and begin their attempts to lock down a roster spot with the big club.

Whether it is Claude Giroux or Cole Bardreau, each camp attendee is given the same task — prepare for the coming season, and convince the team’s braintrust that he can be an essential part of the 2018-19 Philadelphia Flyers roster.
