TORONTO — Andreas Johnsson has inked a new deal with the Toronto Maple Leafs.

The forward accepted his qualifying offer on Friday. It is a one-year, two-way contract with an NHL salary of US$787,500.

The 23-year-old split the 2017-18 season between the Maple Leafs and Toronto Marlies. He played nine regular-season game with the Leafs and chipped in with a goal and an assist in six NHL playoff games.

Johnsson then went on to win the AHL playoff MVP award as the Marlies won the Calder Cup. The native of Sweden had 10 goals and 14 assists in 16 AHL playoff games.

The Leafs picked Johnsson in the seventh round (202nd overall) in the 2013 NHL draft.
