Since the New York Islanders sent Josh Ho-Sang to the AHL, he’s been producing again. He has four points in four games since his return.

After two points in just 10 games with the New York Islanders, Josh Ho-Sang was sent back to the AHL. While the coach said that it was due to performance, some are speculating that it had something to do with him being late again.

Regardless of what happened, Josh Ho-Sang is back in the AHL and the Isles third line of Dal Colle – Filppula – Komarov is struggling, despite Filppula’s game-winning goal just two nights ago. Ho-Sang has since been dominant in the AHL.

He has four points in four games since his return and now has 26 points in 30 AHL games this season. While the numbers weren’t there at the NHL level, it certainly appears that he’s outgrown the AHL.

My biggest criticism with the way Ho-Sang’s been treated is the quick hook. While you can make the case for Ho-Sang with deeper analytics, no one can argue that the point production was good enough.

The only thing is JHS doesn’t need to get better at the AHL level. He’s done it multiple times. I would’ve liked to see Barry Trotz work with him more and see if they can get him hot at the NHL level.

He’s supposed to be a top-six forward, yet Josh only spent a couple of games in a top-six role. It’s been a confusing process to say the least. One day soon, both he and the New York Islanders will figure this out.
